Among the top prestigious awards in the world, the Nobel Peace Prize has honored some of the most celebrated and revered international figures and organizations in history. But how does the nomination process work? And who exactly is eligible?
All Nobel Prizes are awarded in Stockholm, Sweden, except for the Nobel Peace Prize, which is awarded in Oslo, Norway. Why the different locations? Alfred Nobel, declared that the Nobel Peace Prize should be awarded by a Norwegian committee. Nobel himself never told anybody why he didn't give a Swedish body the task of awarding the Peace Prize. Consequently, we can only speculate what made Nobel decide to give the task of selecting the peace prize committee to the Norwegian Parliament.
